Hi, I'm a new Mac/Parallels owner and have struggled to find specific clear advice on how to configure a Mac for 2 users with parallels and windows xp

One problem I had was when the 2nd user logged on they couldn't open the virtual machine. I think I figured out the simplest solution to this is to clone a 2nd virtual machine but I'ld appreciate confirmation that's right. I set up a parallels folder in the Mac as shared that then has separate virtual machine subfolders for each use.

Now with the 2nd virtual machine cloned when I open it up I get 2 messages.

First, "cannot open/users/shared....unattended.fdd". For this I just copied the unattended.fdd icon from the first user virtual machine subfolder and the problem went away. I don't actually have a floppy and I suspect if I did both users couldn't use it but it seemed to make the problem go away. I'ld appreciate any advice if there's a better way to do this.

The 2nd message is "unable to open device/file default cd/dvd-Rom" I don't get this when the first user opens their virtual machine -- It only happens when the 2nd virtual machine is started. I have not been able to figure out how to remedy this which causes parallels to start up very slowly until a message clicks up that allows it to be ignored. Appreciate any advice on the best way to address this issue.

    Thx in advance
    Ben

I just created a second user logon under the standard Windows set up

Look at Macintosh Hard disk >> folder Users >> folder Shared

and experiment with cloning your VM into the Shared folder along with garage band demo songs

cloning teaches Parallels App the file path

    just a guess
    I have never done this
