    Hi,

I am trying to get a Virtual Machine running from a bootcamp partition. I followed the recommendations to make two hardware-profiles and manually set the mac of my network-card while in bootcamp/windows to be the same as in parallels.

Windows expects tells me to activate immediately, but when I click the link to open the activation window I get a box stating: This program cannot display the webpage ... When I run windows in bootcamp I can browse perfectly, no problem with connectivity - also on earlier attempts, when windows didn't prompt me to activate right away I could browse within the virtual machine. In the present state I can't even log in - once I close the mentioned window I am logged out right away.

    What can I do?

Maybe I should add: I am using a perfectly leage Windows Version, XP Sp2 with all the latest updates (installed in Bootcamp) including Internet-Explorer 7. Please help, I am desperately trying to solve this problem and don't know how to proceed. And I am worried that at some point my Bootcamp-install will be disabled because the activation-server assumes there are illegal things going on.

    Thanks in advance

Ok, sorry, this had nothing to do with Parallels!

My Windows-Install was corrupted, in an attempt to make Windows as slim as possible I had deleted the, or part of the oobe-component wich the frontend of windows-activation is based upon. After a long search I found a windows-knowledge-base page that explained how to get oobe back (msoobe: "Microsoft out of body experience". To get it back simply reinstall by rightclicking->install oobe.inf in system32/inf). So maybe one conclusion of value for this forum: if you want a slim Windows but can expect to have to reactivate Windows, don't remove oobe :)

    Best
