Running Parallels Tools build 5584, Windows XP SP2 on the virtual machine, OS X 10.5.1 on the Mac Pro. Tools was installed, but could not drag and drop between Mac/PC desktops and the Video Driver and some other options in the Parallels Tools Center were grayed out, could not enable all of them. When trying to uninstall Tools, kept getting message about finishing a previous installation before making any changes to the current install. Tried everything I could, restarting VM, Windows, making sure admin rights. Also tried deleting the Parallels Tools folders and regedit to delete Tools registry. But still unable to fully get rid of Tools in order to perform clean install. Any other ideas or specific steps to uninstall Tools completely and/or fix the issue of not being able to use all of the functionality?
The update of Parallels Desktop for Mac with the hotfix for MacBook Air kernel crashes is now available. This is a special build recommended for MacBook Air users only. In all other cases the build 5584 is still relevant. Please download the build 5592 here. http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=20164&highlight=5592 18 March 2008 so there may be a newer version still Hugh W
Thanks, but we are on Mac Pro desktops (dual Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors if that matters) and not the Air notebook, so I'm assuming that fix is not recommended.
