okay so right now i am using an old version of parallels on my macbook. i only really am using parallels to play games in vista. i installed navy field (a free game online) and when i load it, the audio works but video does not. i am assuming this is b/c i do not have direct x enabled in my VM. i looked for this option but believe i have to update to get it.
however i do not want to pay for the update, i paid for the previous version and should not have to pay again for such a trivial thing when i just want to play games.
so do i really need to update? i thought that i had installed direct x off the internet so i think i have it..
sorry but i do not know that much about computers, hope this makes sense.. thanks

i do not have the "enable direct x support" box under editing parallels vm...

    Hello Austriker,

What Parallels Desktop build are you using?

Please minimize hardware acceleration level in the display properties:

Right click on the Desktop -> Personalize -> Display Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Trobleshoot tab. Put the hardware acceleration level to zero.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    yes yes yes

if you value a program keep it up todate

but I do stick with OS 10.4.11 and WinXp sp2
    (seven MS updates today)
