Whenever I run Parallels (MacBook and Leopard) the fan on my MacBook goes crazy sometimes. It just runs as fast as hell. Is this another Leopard bug or an issue with parallels?
I just upgraded to build 5584 today and noticed the same issue with the runaway fan on my MacPro. CPU usage did not appear to be high -- Activity Monitor showed low bars in the CPU usage histogram. I'm on a different computer right now and can't check exact numbers.
Just started Parallels on my MBA and within 3 seconds the fans are running at 6900rpm (previously 2500rpm). My MBA is now warm and I am not doing anything on Windows. CPU idle = 94% CPU Temp = 51C Fan 6900rpm. This must be a Parallels bug. Widows is not making my laptop work THAT hard.
Strange, your CPU is only at 6%, which is what I would expect it to be at. There must be something else contributing to your fans. Have you taken it by a computer store to have them look at it?
The fans only really come on when I start Parallels. They start to speed up within about 3-7 seconds of Parallels starting. Any other users (particularly MacBook Air) having the same issue?
Hi, I am having the exact thing happening when I start up my Parallels 5.0.9220, with Vista. The heat on the CPU goes to 100 degrees, and the fans are maxing out. The second I turn off Parallels, it all goes back to normal. KB
