I just replaced my original MacBook Pro; no problems. But I now have a clean build of OS-X Leopard and want to install my copy of Parallels again. But I'm having a problem. My version of Parallels is old, because I purchased it right when it came out. I have the original install (Build 4124) but that crashes every time I try to run it. I have tried downloading the latest version and that works fine, but I can't activate it because my key is for the older version. I know that there are versions after build 4124 that work; as they were working on my old machine, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. Is there a solution to this problem? What can I do? I use Parallels all the time, it's great. But I'm kinda stuck right now. I'm currently running 5584 with a trial key until I can figure out what to do.. :( Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Dave

It has been the 8th day an no one has any idea on how to do this, and there as been no feedback from anyone from Parallels? This is disappointing. Right now the trial key is starting to run out, I have 4 more days. After that I may move to VMWare and try that out, my understanding is that they work about the same.

    Hi,

I have the same problem and can't find a solution. Although I payed for the software, I can't use it anymore because my activation key doesn't work.

    Hope someone posts a solution.

    Thanks.

Exactly, I don't mind sticking with the older version, it works and does what I need it to do. But now I have a brand new machine and a copy of Parallels that won't let me install. If they had some sort of migration tool, I'd use that, but right now I'm just S.O.L.

you need the latest version for 10.5.*

5584 (or higher there is a bug fix too which us 10.4.11 don't need)

That is the problem, we purchased the key the day they came out, so the keys will not work for those version.
