Help needed with missing or corrupt windows file.

So I go to fire up parallels and when the virtual machine runs windows this comes up:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file.

So I am wondering how the hell I do this since I can't open windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Am running parallels desktop 3.0 for Mac.
