Hi, I have worked myself into a bit of a mess: I have set up up a working Vista VM, and all is fine with that. However, I have somehow configured the Vista VM to start the instant that I start Parallels, and when I shut down Vista, the Parallels Desktop shuts down instantly as well. So, I can't get into the Virtual Machine config, as it tells me that I can only do this when the virtual machine is stopped, but the second I stop the virtual machine, Parallels Desktop shuts down as well. Please help out a Newbie.
It sounds very dangerous because you need to clone your VM weekly as a back up - also before major changes - and to update your back up copies (preferably on external hard disks) Whilst your VM is running go into the Dock and uncheck any relevant "Open at Log in" options you have made (just a guess) Hugh W
Nope, that's not my problem. Parallels only starts when I click the program, not at start up in OSX. However, when I start Parallels, my Vista VM start instantly, and when I shut down the Vista VM, the Parallels Desktop program shuts down as well.
