I recently upgraded to a new MBP and am using the latest Parallels build and Windows XP. I am having trouble with my internet connection "holding" in XP. I have periodic drops in internet service - but the internet will work fine on the MBP side. I have set it up under "Shared Networking" and it is randomly disconnects in XP. I am not exactly sure how the settings should be in terms of whether or not "Shared Networking" is the optimal setup. I searched the board and was not able to find someone that had had this specific problem - hence this post. Thanks in advance.
I too am having the same issues with a MacBook Pro and XP. I've tried to change to host only networking as well as shared but nothing keeps a constant connection. This is annoying since I VPN in to my work and have to goto the command prompt and ipconfig /release and /renew every time and reconnect. It will hold for a varied amount of time 5-30 mins. then I have to cycle it again. Anyone have any advice?
Hello Mmcclintock and Wycliffe, Please try the following: 1. Open Mac System Preferences -> Network; 2. Open Parallels NAT adapter configuration and set "Off" in IPv4 field, then click "Apply" button; 3. Do the same for Host-only adapter; 4. Shut down the virtual machine; 5. Reboot the Mac and switch DHCP back on for both Parallels network adapters; 6. Restart Parallels. Best regards, Xenos
