parallels 3.0 install problems

when i put the cd in i was asked to pick the application to open with i picked edit and now it says format not supported.I have a macbook version10.4.10 build 8r2232 im trying to install parallels 3.0 any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou

try to open your CD through Finder and set a setup file going directly.

How do you set up a setup file This is my first macbook im completly new and a little lost with things in this laptop.
