Problems with W10 activation after creating a new VM

    After getting a blue crash screen during an update for Windows10, I wasn't able to get it to boot again or fix it. So I decided to create a 2nd VM from Parallels12 and simply discard the first one. However, W10 won't activate now, bcs the license seems to be linked to the previous (discarded) VM. On the devices tab of my Microsoft Account it says the license is registered to Parallels Virtual Platform. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hi, unfortunately we cannot change the licensing in Microsoft account. Could you please contact MS support and ask them about it.

    Thank you for your reply, Maria. MS is being very uncooperative: "we dont support Parallels, contact them, etc". Is there maybe a way to recreate the VM where to license is assigned to? My MS account gives me a serial number: Parallels-CA 9A CD 53 etc. Or maybe assign this "name/serial number" to my current VM?

    I'm getting the following message:
    We can't activate Windows on this device as the product key you entered has already been used on a different device. Go to the store to buy genuine Windows. Error code: 0x004C008

    Maria, the issue is resolved. I got MS to reactivate my W10 via the activate by phone option. So, my advice to anyone with a similar issue would be to call MS instead of using the chat function.
