I'm happily running Parallels 12 on my MacBook Air through an upgrade download. In the past, all my Parallels installations were via CD/DVD. All upgrades were via a download option.
I'm thinking of getting a new MacBook and wondering how I will put Windows on it? I have a iMac with a bootcamp installation. From what I see in the market place, all Parallels 12 are now download versions. Is that correct?
I'm presently using Windows 10, the free upgrade offer of last year. Since I don't have a CD/DVD copy, I assume I'll have to download Win10 as well. Sure wish we were in the old world of yesteryear when we had a CD/DVD to use if we needed to reinstall Parallels or Windows on a new computer.

,Should I blame Steve Jobs for doing away with DVD drives?

    To download Parallels Desktop 12.
Transfer an existing virtual machine to a new Mac or an external drive, click here.

That's VERY interesting. Does this procedure transfer everything including all the Windows programs plus the Windows sysetm (in my case, Win 10)? If it does, I'm buying a new MacBook (12" version) ASAP

@StarShot yes, it transfers everything including all the Windows programs plus the Windows system. Please try and let us know how it works.
