Hi Support, I'm using Windows 10 Pro as a guest in Parallels Desktop 11.1.3 (32521), the host is OS X 10.10.5. For some reason, Coherence mode has stopped working for me today - every app I start just shows up as a grey box, including the start menu. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed recently. Windows 10 last updated on 2nd March, but that about it. I've tried various think such as setting my VM to "use all displays in full screen", changing the version of direct x being used (from 10 to 9 and back again), and re-installing the Parrallels Tools. It would be great if you could give me any advice to get this fixed, I love working in Coherence Mode.

Hello, If the Windows application appear as grey box in Coherence, then try this solution. Also, reinstall the Parallels tools once, Actions->Reinstall Parallels tools.

I am having the same problem and it is very aggravating. Every windows application is simply a grey box in coherence, not just one gray box. I have reinstalled Parallels Tools but the problem persists. I have Windows 10 and Parallels Desktop Version 11.2.0 (32581). This needs to get fixed ASAP.
This stopped happening for a while, and now it is happening again. When I enter coherence everything is just a blank grey box, the apps, the menu, everything.
Actually I already had it set as described in that Article except for the size in the Mac display preferences. I changed it as suggested by the Article and it did not help. As I said before, this problem had gone away for a while but it is back.
I had the same issue with P11 and El Capitan. Started suddenly, sometimes Coherence worked okay, usually not (would fail to enter Coherence at all). I tried all of the above to no avail. Then I realized I almost always used Parallels with external displays. I opened up my laptop so I had all three displays on, changed the scaling options on my MacBook's retina display, then closed it again and went back to my two external displays and it works again now. Hope this helps someone.

Hello, Parallels Desktop 11 doesn't compatible with macOS 10.15 Please check this KB article for more information about the Parallels Desktop and macOS compatibility Also we would like to inform you that according to the incompatible you can get any issues with Parallels Desktop 11 version installed on macOS 10.15. (It could be Coherence issue or VM crashing) We recommend to update your Parallels Desktop in order to continue using all Parallels Desktop features but if you would like to continue working with 11 version please do not forget to make a backup copies (to avoid any data loses)
Hi, I`ve macOS Catalina (10.15.7) and Parallels Desktop 13 for Mac. I created a Windows 10 VM and worked fine. But after an energy fault reboot, when the Windows 10 goes up and into coherence mode, the start menu and Windows Apps comes to grey. I tried all related above possible solutions, nothing worked. I tried to create a new Windows installation, but it goes do grey menu issue too. There are some possible solution for this issue (except upgrade to Parallels 16 )?
I am sorry, but there is no solution at all, I tried everything nothing is working and Parralle doesn't offer support anymore for that version, so the only solution was to update.
Hello, there is a compatibility issue. You can check the same issue with Parallels Desktop 16 trial version and upgrade if you would like to.
