    Hello all,

I followed the instructions on this webpage (i.e., http://kb.parallels.com/en/111997), but cannot set up a networked HP LaserJet P2055dn printer in Windows XP under Parallels 9.

I've selected "HP LaserJet P2055dn" in the pull-down menu in Configure >> Hardware >> Printer, but Windows XP doesn't list the printer in the printer dialogue.

Can someone please offer any suggestions on how to set up my printer?

    Thank you very much

    Hello PMManojD,

Thank you for your help. I've tried the first four steps below, but still set up any printers from the virtual machine. I'm unsure how to implement step 5 below. The instructions for setting up a network printer on the link above is for Parallels 8. Are there instructions for Parallels 9?

    1. In Mac OS, open System Preferences - Sharing - Services and enable the Printer Sharing service.
    2. Go to System Preferences - Print & Fax - Sharing and make sure that your printer is chosen in the "Share these printers with other computers" list.
    3. Make sure that your printer is able to print from the Mac side (print some test page).
    4. Virtual machine configuration includes a network adapter. Bridged Ethernet (Default Adapter) option should be selected. Make sure that the Enabled and the Connect at startup options are checked.
    5. User account from which you will setup the printer has permission to access the network printer.

    Many thanks,

    Daisuke

    Hello DaisukeK,

Yes, the steps are applicable for Parallels Desktop 9 as well. The last step is to make sure that Mac User account you're logged in has permissions to access the Network printer.

If you still have issue accessing Network printer on Windows Virtual Machine, please (re)install Parallels Tools as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4841 and check how it goes.
