I have the latest version of Parallels 8 and just upgraded to Maverick.

I have 2 monitors and in Coherence mode the Parallels Icon shows up on the top menu bar on both displays (previous OSX only had menu bar on primary display).

On my primary display, the icon is not working. When clicked, it disappears and moves to the secondary display. When clicked on the secondary display, it jumps back to the primary display.

Now, on the secondary monitor, it also has an icon and it works as expected.

So essentially, I have one functioning icon on the secondary display. And then a second icon that bounces. So I end up with 2 icons on the secondary and 0 on the primary display.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

I have to believe it's due to Mavericks now including the top menu bar on secondary displays.

I can provide screenshots if needed

one of the features parallels 9 boasts about is multi monitor support in mavericks. seeing how you said you are using version 8 not 9 I dont think there is support for it in that version.

That may be true, but why would the menu icon not be working correctly? This is essentially saying that Parallels 8 is not compatible on Mavericks with multiple monitors and coherence mode

that may be. if you look at parallels 9 and what it has compared to 8 muti monitor support in mavericks is what 9 has and 8 doesnt. there is a comparative list. dig around about paralells 9 and you will see what i mean. they want you to upgrade to 9 if you have mavericks.

STZConsulting, I have the same configuration, and I'm having the same problem. It definitely seems like a bug to me.

Kangum, when I read "improved multi monitor support", I expect that to be new features, not that you have to upgrade to the new version just to get some simple glitchy bug fixed.

    Workaround: disable second menu bar

As a workaround, I disabled the menu bar on the second monitor in Mavericks:

System Preferences > Mission Control > uncheck Displays have separate Spaces

This workaround means losing OS X's feature in which each display is a separate Space, but I value Convergence mode in Parallels more.

Also, this defect is 100% reproducible for me on OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks running Parallels Desktop 8.0.18615 with Windows 7 64-bit.
