Backup via Parallels Snapshots via Time Machine

My partition was made and installed via My BootCamp. Then I installed Parallels and selected the installed bootcamp partition for a virtual machine. Now, I want to turn on the snapshots so that the partition is backed up with the rest of the Mac via Time Machine. When I try to turn on SmartGuard, it gives me an error of not being able to turn on SmartGuard because it is a My BootCamp partition and not a Parallels partition.

So, my question is: Because I partitioned the disk with an application other than Parallels, I can't back it up via the Parallels snapshots? How can I fix this if that is the case without trashing the partition and redoing it using Parallels?

 

the reason is the following: Boot camp is installed on a rel hard drive. Parallels can make a snapshot only of the virtual hard drive - if you install Windows in pure virtually running virtual machine. As far as all your Windows stored on hard drive - it is not possible. You may import WIndows into the virtual machine - then you will be able to use snapshot feature.

 

How high a risk is it to import the Boot Camp into Parallels as a virtual machine? Since I can't pack it up, I don't want it damaged or destroyed if the import fails...

So the difference between Boot Camp and Parallels VM is that Boot Camp uses a real hard drive? Is Boot Camp more stable than a VM because of this? Are there disadvantages to going to the Parallels VM vs the Boot Camp partition?

 

While importing Boot Camp it is not being erased from you drive - so that after import you can check if it has been imported successfully or even keep both.
I can't tell that Boot Camp is more stable - and Virtual machine has a lot of advantages like using Smart Guard, Time Machine or even just manually copy the pVM file for a backup purpose. So it is more mobile
