    Install ESXi 5 on Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac

    Hi Community!

    Is it possible to install VMware ESXi 5.0 into a Parallels VM?

    Which settings of Guest OS must I set to install ESXi?

    Exp: Other Linux Kernel 2.6, or RedHat Enterprise Linux??

    It MUST be a 64bit Kernel.

    In VMware Fusion I can select the preset "ESX/ESXi".

    Thanks, Jo!

    I tried to install ESXi5 on Parallels Desktop 7.

    I tried to install ESXi5 on Parallels Desktop 7. Also, I migrated the ESXi5 VM of Fusion to Parallels Desktop 7.

    But, there are two problems.
    1) No Storage Found -> how could I define the lsilogic sas controller?
    2) Not compatible network device. -> how could I define the e1000 as network device?

    If the upper two problems could be solved, the ESXi5 would be running on Parallels Desktop7.

    Now, for ESXi5, I am running both Fusion and Parallels.

    Thanks,

    Storage -> IDE

    When I configure HDD as SATA and SCSI, ESXi5 didn't found any local storage. But, IDE is found by ESXi5 installer.

    what about network: seems that it is an issue in Parallels transporter, it should set network-type to e1000...

    To configure it to be e1000 now: follow the steps in the http://kb.parallels.com/en/9041 but instead of
    devices.net.force_adapter_type=rtl it should be devices.net.force_adapter_type=e1000

    I can't answer about LSI-logic.. but afaik Parallels emulates only BusLogic scsi-adapter. Isn't it possible to fix Linux to use another disk type (SATA)?
