Forgive me if this thread is repetitive to others, but I'm having trouble connecting to the internet in Windows 7 in Parallels desktop. Here is my experience/status: 1. I did not make any changes to the application settings. 2. I did not do anything unusual during the Windows installation process. 3. In "Preferences" in Parallels Desktop, my "Network" setting "Connection Type" is "Shared Connection." 4. In Virtual Machine Configuration, the network adapter is listed as "Connected." 5. The system tray icon in Windows shows that there is no internet connection. When I attempt to find an internet connection, Windows tells me that there are no available networks (even though there are several available all of which show in the Mac OSX instance (AirPort). Any advice on how to get an internet connection on Windows in Parallels?
It seems that you need to install Parallels Tools. There should be a hint in the status bar about it, but it is hard to notice :-( Click menu of Parallels Desktop "Virtual Machine" and choose "Install Parallels Tools" while VM is running. Please read carefully the message, you may need to manually start the installatioin of Tools if Autorun is disabled in Windows for some reason PS: Likely that Coherence is not available for the same reason
