I have a problem with Parallels 5 that gives me no access to the network. It said 'Ethernetcontroller and PCI is missing'. Under MAC OS I don't have problems with internet access (otherwise I couldn't have written this message Further: when trying to install Windows 7 under Parallels it doesn't recognize my Windows key number, maybe because it doesn't have access to the internet while running parallels? There can't be anythingwrong with my Windows 7 because I bought it this afternoon.
Please try to install Parallels Tools. It can be done from menu "Virtual Machine" -> "Install Parallels Tools"
Didn't help me. Sorry, didn't help me. I realise now that my internetconnection (just for Parallels/Windows, not for the Mac part of my computers) dissapeared after installing Snow Leopard a few weeks ago. As I knew that Parallels 5.0 would come out I waited, bought Win7 and Par. 5.0 to make a fresh start. But it really isn't working! It keeps on saying that there is no Ethernet controller and no PCI or it says 'No drivers installed, select wich driver to install' (I'm translating this from Dutch to English so maybe other words are used in the English version. But you know what I mean. I tried to download and install Parallels Tools, but that doesn't work either. I allways was very glad with Parallels, but this one is driving me crazy! It allready has cost me by far more on hours than what I payed for Parallels itself! And seeing this forum I'm not the only one with troubles:-( I get Internet on my Macbook (2.4GHz, Intel Core Duo with 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 and Mac OSX 10.6.2) through 'Airport'. Well, thanks in advance for trying to help me out!
Parallels Tools I was thinking by clicking on 'install Parallels tools' in the menu the program is starting downloading extra files. Am I wrong? Are the files allready in the downloaded program? Well in that case there's still something wrong, because it doesn't install Tools.
Hm. Actually after clicking this menu, the Installer of Parallels Tools in VM should start. If it doesn't, please try to start it Manually by clicking My Computer -> CD Rom. If it finishes with some error, please send a problem report using menu "Help" -> "Report a Problem" and post here its number
