OK, so I got the PD4 upgrade to work, finally.

But the shortcuts to toggle from Window to Modality and Coherence don't work; nothing happens.

    Any idea why?

Bumping this up, though I guess it's a minor issue compared with the nightmares people are having getting this kludgy upgrade to work.

Which shortcuts are you referring to:

On my machine I get to them by using the Parallels window: View-->Modality
or on the Toolbar by clicking on Modality, Full Screen, etc. I set them up to show by right clicking on the Toolbar and customizing the menu.

    Are there other shortcuts?

Right, using the View menu works, as does the toolbar icon (but that only works Window -> Modality; you can't click anywhere in the tiny Modality window and get back to Window; you have to go to the View menu).

For Keyboard Shortcuts, go to Parallels Preferences, click on the Keyboard and Mouse option; there is a list, and you can define your own. Some are predefined, including 'Modality Toggle': Ctrl+Alt+Cmd+Return. But on my MacBook they don't work, neither on the MBP's keyboard nor on my external Microsoft keyboard.

So that's my question: Why don't they work?

Don't know. They work on my Imac.
Send a problem report. Help-->Report a problem from the Parallels menu bar.

Don't know. They work intermittently on my Imac.
Send a problem report. Help-->Report a problem from the Parallels menu bar.

Update: The keyboad shortcuts only work if I click on the windows screen before trying the shortcut. Like Parallels has to have focus on this screen.

    Aha!

Well hallelujah! Who woulda thunk it? You click on the Windoze desktop, and then Cmd-Alt-Ctrl-Enter works!

Now I feel dumb, but not as dumb as I'd feel if the Parallels folks had thought to put that little tip in their Help manual.

    Thanks Biglar!
